Shireentol
Who's first?
I believe strongly that the elephants of the park have right of way... especially when a few times BIGGER then a car!
The long walk!
Local woman on the way to church, the blue and white is the colours of the faith of this particular local church in South Africa.
Hyena Baby!!!!
A rare sighting for a safari park, a baby hyena venturing a few feet from mama & papa!
Elephant Rush
With far more solitary elephants in the Kruger park, its a treat to come across one! We only saw a hand full of elephant groups, not as much as compared to the past!
African Sunset
Our first evening in the National Park delivered us a magnificent sunset at about 5.30 pm!
In the shade
Resting in the shade, this was the first animal we saw on Safari! A beautiful Impala!
Crafts of wood
All along the road from the airport to the Kruger National Park the locals sell their carved crafts of wood! ... unusual to me was these chickens / roosters!
Bird of Paradise...fl
Flower of South Africa - Bird of Paradise. Took this photo in Johannesburg.
Ball bush
No clue what this branch / tree / bush was called, but very unusual with the balls on it. They were seen more often in the middle parts of the Kruger Park.
Hornbill
This beautiful bird never came close, so we enjoyed him from a distance. Again spotted in South Africa while on Safari!
Lioness
Taking it easy, this lion we spotted about 1 km from Tshokwane in Kruger park!
Butterfly
A small creature with magnificent beauty!
Hello!
Spotted Hyena enjoying the last few hours of sunshine before the sun starts to set!
Agressive Baboon!
Regret the photo was not as clear as hoped, I took the photo through the car window because the baboon was just a meter from the car crossing a bridge, and with those teeth I was not going to even try opening my window for a good shot!
Blue bird
Africa offers a wide variety of birds, and this trip to South Africa I noticed more then usual! It was great!
Black or white?
A zebra giving me the look! Fantastic!
The LION king
A male and female lion just a few metres from the main road between Tshokwane & Satara were these 2 lions resting... almost difficult to see because they blend in with their environment so well.
Scops- Owl
Southern White-faced Scops- Owl - hidden in a tree at the entrance of the Satara Camp reception little little own was sitting observing the activity of eager tourists wanting to spot animals!
Impala
If you want to enjoy taking photos while on an african adventure.... then the Kruger National Park in South Africa is a must! A relaxed environment, looking for animals at your own pace!
White-backed Vulture
White-backed Vulture - one of the approx 40 vultures waiting for 2 hyenas to finish with the wildebeest that had been killed by a bigger animal.
Sunrise reflection
Another water hole between Skukuza and Olifants in the Kruger National Park in South Africa! You may not see a lot of animals by the waters edge, but the sunrise makes up for that!
Hornbill
Southern Ground Hornbill - Relaxed and not bothered walking on the road in the park early in the morning!
Chewing Grass
Not bothered, this Zebra was enjoying a snack!
