Pohutukawa trees bloom a wonderful red flower around Christmas. Thats why these trees are called the New Zealand Christmas tree. Except one would never cut one down and bring it inside.

This would have been like this since it was built. Great fishing in the river. Simple shearers cottage with the names of the shearers carved in the walls. Some names go back 80 years.

I dont like getting out of bed early. Except when it looks like this. This is west of Nelson looking to the Marlborough Sounds and French Pass where the tide roars through at 15 knots just like Vancouver Island.

Sun comes up

Sun comes up at Bruce Bay, Westcoast of the South island. Again a place most miss. You should see Mt Cook as the light comes across the estuary. Best view around. Just me to enjoy it.
