North Yorkshire Dales

Engeland,
Groot-Brittannië

Ingleton makes a perfect base during a visit to the North Yorkshire Dales National Park.
A workaday town, Ingleton shows its mining and quarrying history in its buildings. It became a place for tourists to visit when the railway arrived in 1859 - the viaduct almost cuts the village in half.
The Waterfalls Walk was developed in the 1880s, the developers charged for the privilege of taking the route, Today the spectacular trail is well maintained and although the admission is GBP 6 it is well worth it. The trail ambles and climbs through old oak forest for just over 8 kms past nine waterfalls, It is not a strenuous walk and takes between 2 1/2 and 4 hours depending how many times you are forced to reach for the camera.
