We have a saying, - "money doesn't grow on trees", but the people in Yorkshire know otherwise.
When of our recent walks took us through a forest where a fallen tree had been decorated by previous walkers with two pence pieces. Similar to walking a laying a stone on a stoneman along the route, each walker passing by is encouraged to take a two p from his/her pocket and tap it in to the old bark. We saw this a few times in the same forest, the toadstools I found enchanting.
