At the foot of the old colonial terraced houses on 18th street we find the Chinese butchers. Not really my cup of tea as a vegetarian but our friend insisted that we walk the street. This area is home to the 150,000 Chinese-Burmese residents. Many families immigrated here in the late 18th century from Guangzhou, Hokkien and Yunnan, In some families only Chinese is still spoken.
