No series of Yangon would be complete without the Shwedagon Pagoda. Some would say sunset time is the best time to visit, some would argue dawn is the best time. But it really doesn't matter any time of day is a pleasure to be here, to soak up the atmosphere, to watch the people making their offerings and prayers, to try to understand what makes these people so resilient.
Always on my first day of arrival in Burma, I visit the pagoda, then I know I am back in Burma.
This was taken in 2010 and my camera tells me at 11:34, as normally I would not be taking photos at midday I can only assume that I had forgotten to change my camera clock and this was really late afternoon.
