The streets of Rangoon

In a side alley flanking the famous Strand Hotel, (where the most affluent visitors stay in the teak-lined, 95-year-old, $300+ a-night. Once the refuge of old colonials, now restored and run by the one of the luxury chains), I met a crowd of young boys eating simple fried snacks at a roadside stall, I sat for a while - they all became very excited when my camera appeared. Except for this young boy who remained serious and watched my every move.

I just cant help thinking that the $300 per night would go a long, long way in his family.
