A few years back we made a 4 day trek in the Shan hills, in a region that was just open for foreigners. A wonderful experience staying overnight with host families. The area remains virtually untrodden as most venture from Inle to Kalaw and avoid this area. Here you see some of the women of the family sittign, as usual in the kitchen. Cooking and eating is always done on the floor.
