Education in the most parts of Burma leaves a lot to be desired. In the state of Chin, for instance three to ten villages have to share one school without regular teachers or basic facilities. Chin youngsters that are fortunate enough to attend school can not study the Chin language, cultural observances, or traditional practices. The SPDC only allows teaching of Burmese language, culture, and history.
