When you tire of the monuments and temples in Mandu you can walk to and through the villages dotted over the plateau. Sometimes we were chased by cheeky kids, "you have pen?", Take photo, take photo!". But more often we met with shy smiles and the occassional invite for chai.
The writing on the wall, is a political slogan - political parties pay villagers to paint their houses as advertisments.
