Friday is an important day in Muslim countries and Bangladesh is no exception. The daily markets are the busiest on Friday's and the weekly markets such as the rice market and the goat market are only held on Fridays.
Sitting in the rice bowl of Bangladesh, Birishiri holds the biggest rice market. Mountains of rice are brought in from the countryside, weighed (notice the old scales), sacked, and transported all over the country.
