Fishing and farming are the principal occupations of people living here, more than 62 per cent of heads of households are engaged in farming and 70% of households depend on fishing in the Haor.
The fishermen work in groups, the boats are in the center of the circle of nets. Some splash the water, some are in the water chasing the fish into the nets.Its a highly choreographed exercise and a pleasure to watch.
