You could be forgiven of thinking that life on the Tanguar Haor is idyllic.
But for the people living on the haor it s is a hard life, a very hard life. For more than six months of the year they are completely cut off from the rest of the country, and for the remaining time only accessible by motorbike and boat. All goods have to be transported by boat. Their houses are inadequate to cope with the rain of the monsoon or the heat of the summers, or indeed the cold of the winter.. Access to schools and medical services are virtually nonexistent.
Life is as it is. Raw and simple.
