Tahirpur, as the name may suggest,(towns or villages ending with pur or normally Hindu) used to be an important Hindu town many years ago, and as is common a bathing tank was erected in the middle of the town. Today, Tahirpur is a very small moslim town, the grandeur has crumbled to rubble and ruins but the tank still exists and is used daily.
