There is no guest house in Tahirpur, we have to stay at the government resthouse. An old run down building. Upstairs are offices of the police, the agriculture department, the education department, the civil register etc. Downstairs is a school and a few rooms used for by government officials while visiting Tahirpur.
We are shown to the "'VIP" suite. We had two rooms, a bed and small table which they covered especially for us with a ''once-upon-a-time'' white cloth and a promise of two buckets of hot water each evening delivered to our attached ''bathroom''. For want of a better word let’s call it a bathroom. The village water pump was in the main courtyard.
What we did have however, was a view.....I'll show you next.
