At the end of the day, we, the women and I went to the rivers edge to wash our clothes. When I lived in India many, many years ago this was my daily routine, and I was pleasantly surprised as to how quickly I remembered the art of washing on a stone, how agile I could still squat. For me it was a trip down memory lane, for these women a chore to be done every day.
