Tindersticks or firesticks are made from cow dung, molded by hand around a stick and left to dry in the sun. They are then used for the fire to cook on, boil the water for drinking and to heat the water for washing.
Always the work of the women and sometimes the children help, today she was lucky to have me to help her. Although I only made about 10 sticks to her 30, - maybe not so lucky.
