Rangitoto means Bleeding Sky in Maori. Thats because it blew up years ago. When I was a kid we could tell the wether based on how close Rangitoto appeared. If it looked far away then sunshine. If it looked close then rain was coming. Modern really. Located in Auckland harbour, I grew up with this volcano. I quite like it.
