Our Kichwa guide, Remi, was born and bred and Napo. He had such a keen eye, spotting camouflaged snakes in the undergrowth, monkeys way up high in the tree canopy, small colourful birds hunting for food. Without him, I would have missed so much. I may not have even spotted these small bats sleeping on a dead tree. We drifted gently past in our canoe without stirring them.
