Copán ,
Honduras

Honduras has an eventful past, not only the internal conflicts but often also dragged into conflicts from neighboring countries.
Units of San Salvador support the American military training camps across the border with Honduras, often fighting there, with all consequences for the local population. Honduras was / is too weak to resist this.
From Parque central, you start with Calle de la plaza in the back, on the left the arqueological museum you walk to Avenida Centroamericano, you follow the way up, take enough drink, it is a nasty climb,
depending on your condition and the heat you take about 15 to 20 minutes to get this view.
This fort testimony to the turbulent past, lies in a side street on the right-hand side.
It houses a military museum, when I was there, it was closed due to the festivities before the governor's arrival.
According to local residents it is always quiet there, even many travel guides do not know about the existence, (or look forward to the climb) ;-)
I do not know how it is inside but for the outside I think it is worth going there.
