Antigua, located in Guatemala, has a very friendly ambiance and is a great place to stay if you like to brush up on your Spanish. I spend a week in Antigua with a local family and registered with one of the local language schools. Because I didn’t feel like sitting in a classroom, I had suggested to my teacher that it would be better for my Spanish skills to learn and study outside the classroom and to spend our classroom hours strolling around the city. And that is what we did….we visited markets, musea, had coffee in small cafe’s…we talked for hours about life, family, daily routines and at the same time I was carrying my camera around.
