Ota is a starting point for many walks, especially in the gorges of the Spelunca.
Surrounded by red granite hills, it is a a picturesque mountain village.

The legend of Capu Ota: overlooking the village the rock of Capu Ota appears to threaten homes. People often ask the villagers if they feel safe despite this impressive block of rock above their heads. The villagers say that saints take turns to hold the rock with very large chains, as long as they pay homage to the saints they will be protected.
Along the mountain paths you come across small crosses and flowers for the saints.
