Rakhine state has been very much in the news over the past year or state, with the plight of the Rohingya and the crackdown of the government, genocide you may call it.
This year we wanted to travel back to Rakhine, not to the north where it is impossible for foreigners to visit and quite frankly who would want to, but to the south an area that is less explored and area where life remains untouched by violence and by time. We found not only peaceful villages but some amazing untouched beaches, with jungle full of birds growing to the shores and even a few small coral reefs.
