Learning the trades
Mymensingh,
Bangladesh
Due to the political unrest in the country we were stuck in Mymensingh for a few days. There was no public transport in the entire country and arson attacks on the road made it too dangerous for private cars to take the chance. Anyway, Mymensingh although I was glad to eventually leave had its charm, a small university town by the river. Although it doesn't see many tourists the people in the main street got used to us very quickly and photographing them going about their daily routine was no problem.
The young boy that you see to the right of our rickshaw driver, went to school in the morning and was learning two trades in the afternoon, from his uncle the tailor behind, and from his father the cobbler, (shoe maker) who is absence in this photo. I'll try to find him.
