Although Bangladesh is predominantly Muslim, most people living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts belong to one of the 11 indigenous groups making this young Muslim girl a minority here.
It was probably knowing this that attracted my eye to her moving gracefully along the river edge in full albeit uncovered burqa. Outside the CHT she would have been one of the millions.
