This is the Agdal Water Basin near the Royal stables in Meknes
It was arranged by people under Moulay Ismail rule, this wide basin was designed to irrigate the gardens(Agdal) and also water for the 12000 horses in the stables,it was also an important water reserve.
It is an artificial pool of 4 hectares with a trapezoidal plan, it measures a depth of 3.5 m.
This formidable reservoir water is regularly supplied originally by ten water wheels connected by channels of nearly 25 km long, they were intended at the time to irrigate the gardens of Meknes.
Anyway it makes a nice reflection.
