IT HAS BEEN SOME RIDE TO GET HERE..

I was in the spiritual center of Bali – Ubud – when I got this clear vision that I needed to come back here, to stay for a longer period of time. Back there and then, October ’16, I bought a one way ticket for the 31th of december. Indeed with some mixed feelings, mostly excitement, sometimes surtain forms of fear.. But no doubts in my mind.

But before I could return to this green paradise, there were some things needed to be done.

Being back in Amsterdam I had to quit my job and move out of my house. Plus I needed to get rid of my belonings and arrange a visa, wich both were hell-jobs at the time. But above all, I had to tell my beloved ones I was going away for a long time. Life ain’t a picnic sometimes. But every time it hit on me, I visioned myself in that particular green garden where I decided to start a new life-chapter in Bali. If that wasn’t helping, I imagined myself sitting in Soma café enjoying the live music, writing, daydreaming, making plans.. I cheerup up. :)

ONE AND A HALF WEEK BEFORE MOVING I GOT SICK

I had this allergic reaction to something yet unknown. My lip swelled up like a big balloon and although I got some skin ’round my lips, it was too swollen to maintain and it tore open and those cuts became infected. Sounds nice huh?! Now I can laugh about it, because I looked ridiculous. But back then I felt horrible. Feeling sick and stressed out in a time I couldn’t possibly be sick because I needed to finish my payed job, meet some people for the last time in a long period, needed to pack my stuff, move out.

Anyhow, life sometimes challenges you a bit. Dares you on how bad you want something. At least, that’s my point of view.

But making this big change by moving abroad has shown me the love and kindness from the people I love. I received cards and all nice words and wishes, even presents, amazing how many people cared.. But most of all – and this really shook me to my core in the most positive way – the trust I received from everyone I care about. These people seem to have more faith in me then I ever had in myself. That really, really surprised and strengthened me.

So the day before I flew to Bali, I felt like printing some photo’s to take with me, some memories I can physically hold, just in case…

AND NOW HERE I AM, RECOVERED, WITH MY OLD LIPS, THE PICTURES I TOOK WITH ME, SMILING, BREATHING, IN UBUD AGAIN.
